About The Position

BYU–Hawaii is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor for its Biology program. This is a full-time faculty position within the Faculty of Science. BYU–Hawaii is an undergraduate teaching institution with a strong emphasis on excellence in teaching and student learning, aiming to prepare disciples of Jesus Christ who will live and lead in Oceania and the Asian Rim. Requirements

• A doctorate in Biology or related field is required. Foreign equivalent degree from a nationally accredited institution accepted.
• Specializing in areas such as: Human Anatomy or Physiology, Ecology or Marine Biology, Cell Biology, Environmental Science.
• ABD near completion will also be considered (must complete degree by start date).
• Candidates who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend and receive a clearance from the Church’s Ecclesiastical Clearance Office.

Responsibilities

• Teaching requirement is typically 30 semester credit hours per year over three semesters in subject areas such as: Introductory Biology or Chemistry, Human Anatomy or Physiology, Ecology or Marine Biology, Statistics, Cell Biology.
• Scholarship: Faculty are expected to remain professionally and academically engaged through research or creative endeavors and on-going professional development.
• Citizenship: Faculty are expected to contribute actively to the university community and their profession.

• Salary range: 121K to 131K, depending on credentials (highest degree earned), rank and experience.
