About The Position

Motivate is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to ensure the efficient daily delivery of operations for Washington, DC’s bikeshare system. The role supervises operational staff, ensures employees have the resources they need, works with team members to identify and implement operational improvements, and maintains safety and performance standards.

The starting schedule is Sunday through Wednesday, 1:30 PM–11:30 PM, covering four 10-hour shifts. Schedules may change based on business needs.

Requirements

• Prior experience in warehouse and field-based fleet operations.
• Previous supervisory experience with an hourly operations team.
• Experience overseeing employees in a union environment and engaging them for productivity and success.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive as a self-starter in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a wide range of audiences.
• Current driver’s license and ability to meet Motor Vehicle Record requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop schedules and supervise the service delivery team daily, ensuring beginning- and end-of-shift processes run smoothly.
• Train and supervise employees, monitor performance during shifts, and ensure the department meets its metrics.
• Lead daily operational standups, including shift goals and safety topics, and record and report daily operational metrics.
• Use performance data to design and modify operational procedures so performance metrics are met and improved.
• Ensure safety-related and quality-control processes are in place and followed.
• Provide employees with the resources needed to conduct their duties.
• Partner with team members to identify and implement operational improvements.
