The Assistant Nursing Director (AND) plays a key leadership role overseeing daily operations, supporting high‑performing clinical teams, and ensuring exceptional patient care across complex cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic procedures. Requirements
- BSN required; MSN preferred
- Active RN license; BLS certification
- 3–5 years relevant clinical experience; up to 1 year leadership or charge experience
- Demonstrated leadership, strong communication, and critical thinking
- Comfortable with clinical systems; proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Access helpful)
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily CVI OR operations and patient flow.
- Coordinate cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and IP surgical schedules.
- Partner with PACU, Pre‑Op, and CVICU to optimize perioperative planning.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence to support staff and physicians.
- Serve as a liaison across anesthesia, scheduling, central processing, and other departments.
- Participate in Administrator‑on‑Call rotation.
- Support block time planning, room assignments, and future scheduling.
- Develop and manage daily and monthly staffing schedules.
- Oversee vacation, holiday, and payroll processes.
- Support onboarding and clinical experiences for new hires, students, and travelers.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations.
- Promote professional growth, engagement, and evidence‑based practice.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and clinical excellence.
