About The Position

In an inpatient setting, this role supports standards of care and provides consultation and expertise in the delivery of patient care. The Assistant Nurse Manager supports activities at the service, nursing practice, and institutional level, and contributes to goal achievement through personal action and the facilitation of others. They participate in community and professional organizations, demonstrating commitment to the promotion of nursing's visibility and future. This role provides expert patient care, serves as a resource, consults as requested, and communicates effectively within the unit and service. They also participate in the management of human resources, the development and evaluation of recruitment and retention strategies, and the monitoring of patient outcomes. Responsibilities may exist at the unit, program, or service level, and the role may assume an expanded role as assigned by leadership. This is a full-time position available on a D/E/N schedule, with 8 and 12-hour shifts, and holidays and weekends as per unit policy. The unit is an adult medical/surgical unit for patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and/or substance use disorders, including a 20-bed area and a 10-bed area.
