Clinical Nurse Manager – CNM – Inpatient Psychiatry/Medicine – 11North In this role as a Clinical Nurse Manager, you’ll assume first line leadership responsibility and accountability for managing the delivery of patient care. You will facilitate efficient and cost-effective daily operations of the unit in relation to patient throughput including admissions, discharges and transfers. You will be a leader in promoting a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies, and procedures. In collaboration with the Patient Care Director, you’ll participate in the establishment of short- and long-term goals and ensure its alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals. Also, you will be accountable for monitoring staff compliance with regulatory, hospital and divisional requirements. Now, you have the opportunity to join us. This is a full-time position 7:30 am – 3:30 pm includes some (one weekend coverage/month or as needed), at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • 2 plus years of clinical experience in psychiatry
  • Current New York State RN license
  • Knowledge of current health care environment
  • Demonstrates understanding of customer service principles
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to use computer applications
  • Knowledge of performance improvement principles

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • At least 5 years of Nursing experience
  • 2-3 years of Charge Nurse experience
  • Nursing Certification/s
