19200/G9200 - Inpatient Medicine in Psychiatry Unit – RN Level I - II
About The Position
This is an opportunity to become a member of a unique unit, one of only a handful of similar units in the country. It is an adult medical/surgical unit for patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and/or behavioral issues. This expanding unit is looking for flexible, enthusiastic, and committed nurses to help us grow. Med/surg acute care experience is a plus. Willingness to care for a varied patient population in a changing environment is a must! Nurses are eligible for dual-certification in both medical/surgical nursing and psychiatric nursing after experience requirements are attained. New graduates (Level 1) are eligible for the med/surg Residency Program, designed to assist novice graduate nurses in transitioning to competent professional nurses. To be eligible for the nurse residency, candidates must have less than one year of prior experience in acute care and plan for a two-year commitment upon program completion.

Responsibilities
- Functions as a new graduate nurse with less than one year of experience.
- Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, continues to build competency in the provision of direct patient care.
- Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
- Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services.
