About The Position

UW Medical Center–Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager/RN3 to join us in our Main Operating Room. This position supports daily operations and team leadership within the unit, serving as a clinical resource, supporting staff development, and partnering with the Nurse Manager to maintain safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The role involves delivering safe, high-quality patient care, coordinating care across departments, serving as a clinical resource and role model, supporting staff education, assisting with daily operations, promoting effective communication, participating in quality improvement initiatives, providing guidance and feedback, serving as charge nurse, and assisting with unit goals and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse license or valid Multistate license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of two years of professional surgical nursing experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Operating Room registered nurse, with proficiency in perioperative nursing practice
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Nice To Haves

  • Surgical Scrub experience strongly preferred
  • Masters Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality patient care (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
  • Coordinate care across departments to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Serve as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff
  • Support staff education, onboarding, and ongoing competency development
  • Assist with daily operations, including patient flow and staffing coordination
  • Promote effective communication among patients, families, and care team
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain standards of care
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and support to team members
  • Serve as charge nurse as assigned and participate in committees as needed
  • Assist with unit goals, program development, and process improvements
