About The Position

Our Postpartum unit at UW Medical Center-Montlake is looking for an experienced nurse interested in joining our team. UW Medical Center-Montlake proudly holds the distinction of being the very first Magnet Designated hospital in the United States. We are excited be in seventh consecutive designation, a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in healthcare. Join us on this exciting journey! The unit has a family-centered focus with 18 postpartum mother/baby rooms and cares for medically complex and high-risk postpartum patients. This position offers the highest-level of care for patients by working with Obstetric, Maternal Fetal Medicine and Pediatric/Newborn providers who are in-house and accessible around the clock. Nurses have access to certified lactation consultants 7-days per week and collaborate with dedicated perinatal social workers for care coordination, as needed. The unit adheres to AWHONN staffing standards, with nurse-patient ratios assigned by acuity, ranging from 1:3-1:6 (mother = 1 patient, Baby = 1 patient).

Requirements

Have or obtain a WA state license to practice as an RN or MSL
Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
Two or more years of postpartum experience
BLS

Responsibilities

Provide the highest-level of care for our patients by working with Obstetric, Maternal Fetal Medicine and Pediatric/Newborn providers who are in-house and accessible around the clock.
Have access to certified lactation consultants 7-days per week.
Collaborate with dedicated perinatal social workers for care coordination, as needed.
