About The Position

Assists with supervising and coordinating the administrative and operational activities in the assigned areas. Collaborates with interprofessional team to ensure safe and effective care delivery while promoting a culture of excellence. This role involves performing managerial responsibilities 80% of the time, with the remaining time dedicated to ground support for frontline staff and direct patient care as needed. The position also supports managers/directors in planning, supervision, and ensuring readiness for regulatory surveys, while serving as a professional role model and clinical resource. It emphasizes personal and professional growth, fostering an environment for interdisciplinary team members, and modeling core culture and safety behaviors to implement high reliability principles. The role facilitates change management, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives, while supporting the organization's mission and vision and adhering to BSMH policies. BSMH nurses are expected to practice and deliver care in accordance with the core concepts and intention of the BSMH Nursing Professional Practice Model.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Nursing (required)
Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to entering patient care setting)
PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred)
ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred)
NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program (preferred)
TNCC Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (preferred)
ENPC Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (preferred)
National Board Certification Specialty (preferred)
Nurse Executive Certification or designated specialty certification (preferred)
2 years nursing experience with 1 year minimum clinical experience in the acuity level of desired area (preferred)

Responsibilities

Leads a team of nurses and clinical support.
Supports managers/directors on larger units.
Performs managerial responsibilities 80% of time; works on ground support for frontline staff and assists in direct patient care as needed.

Assists with managers/directors in planning and maintaining department's readiness for regulatory surveyors.
