About The Position

The Assistant Merchant provides overall support to the Merchant team in creating an exciting, customer-focused product assortment that meets or exceeds sales volume and profit goals for the assigned area. The role responds to customer feedback and market trends and works with the Merchant to develop action plans that drive growth and profitability.

The position manages order entry and product attributing according to the approved buy plan, coordinates delivery flow and product updates with cross-functional teams, organizes seasonal samples, and supports merchandising analysis and reporting. It also includes traveling to stores to connect with customers. Duties may vary among brands.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and analyze data.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Basic knowledge of retail math.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks to balance immediate and long-term business needs.
• Ability to multitask and complete projects on time.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Merchant to develop a competitive, customer-focused merchandise assortment.
• Partner with Production and Allocation teams to manage delivery flow and address issues.
• Build partnerships with cross-functional teams, including Planning, Product Development, Marketing, Allocation, and Visual.
• Manage order entry and product attributing based on the approved buy plan, and initiate purchase order revisions when applicable.
• Organize samples and create and maintain tracking by season, classification, and delivery.
• Coordinate with Digital Commerce Merchandising Site Operations and International teams on the final assortment and necessary updates.
• Travel to stores to connect with customers.
• Respond to business needs with a sense of urgency.
• Perform ad hoc reporting to support merchandising and analysis as needed.
