About The Position

The Assistant Merchant provides overall support to the Merchant team in developing an engaging, customer-focused product assortment that meets or exceeds sales and profit goals. The role responds to customer feedback and market trends and works with the Merchant to develop plans that support growth and profitability. The position may exist across multiple brands, and some duties may vary by brand.

Requirements

• One year of experience required.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze data.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Basic knowledge of retail math.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to prioritize tasks while balancing immediate and long-term business needs.
• Ability to multitask and complete projects on time.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Merchant to develop a competitive, customer-focused merchandise assortment.
• Partner with Production and Allocation to manage delivery flow and address issues.
• Build partnerships across Planning, Product Development, Marketing, Allocation, and Visual teams.
• Manage order entry and product attributing based on the approved buy plan, and initiate purchase-order revisions when applicable.
• Organize, track, and maintain samples by season, classification, and delivery.
• Coordinate with Digital Commerce Merchandising Site Operations and International teams on the final assortment and updates.
• Travel to stores to connect with customers.
• Respond to business needs with a sense of urgency.
• Perform ad hoc reporting to support merchandising and analysis.
