About The Position

The Assistant Merchant provides overall support to the Merchant team in creating a customer-focused product assortment intended to meet or exceed sales volume and profit goals. The role responds to customer feedback and market trends and works with the Merchant to develop action plans that drive growth and profitability. The position is based at Corporate FAS Retail Services in Fort Myers, Florida. Some duties may vary by brand.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze data.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Basic knowledge of retail math.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize immediate and long-term business needs.
• Ability to multitask and complete projects on time.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Merchant to develop a competitive, customer-focused merchandise assortment.
• Partner with Production and Allocation to manage delivery flow and address issues as they arise.
• Build partnerships across Planning, Product Development, Marketing, Allocation, and Visual teams.
• Manage order entry and product attributing based on the approved buy plan; initiate purchase-order revisions when applicable.
• Organize and track samples, maintaining them by season, classification, and delivery.
• Coordinate with Digital Commerce Merchandising Site Operations and International teams on the final assortment and updates.
• Travel to stores to connect with customers.
• Respond to business needs with a sense of urgency.
• Perform ad hoc reporting to support merchandising and analysis as needed.
