About The Position

Soma is an intimate apparel brand focused on comfort, confidence, and helping women feel empowered. The Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager in leading the team, building community connections, and creating a seamless customer experience. The role helps foster a welcoming environment for associates and customers and supports memorable, personalized experiences that reflect the company’s culture of hospitality.

The Assistant Manager builds and develops the team, supports store financial goals, and helps ensure strong sales-floor execution, brand presentation, safe and efficient operations, and compliance with company policies. The role also contributes to community initiatives through company-sponsored events, philanthropy, and other activities.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Team-player mindset with a high level of ownership and initiative.
• Ability to develop strong customer and peer relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to bend, reach, and stretch for products; maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom; operate the register; and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of retail management experience preferred.
• Passion for the brand, fashion, and empowering confidence.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a team that delivers a customer-centered experience.
• Take ownership of store financial goals and motivate the team to achieve them.
• Assist with hiring, developing, and coaching associates.
• Lead by example on the sales floor, share product knowledge, and use an omni-channel approach.
• Maintain a visually inspiring store environment that reflects brand standards.
• Support safe and efficient store operations, including inventory management, daily merchandise replenishment, and inventory execution.
• Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, and business practices.
• Build community connections through in-store company-sponsored events, philanthropy, and other initiatives.
