The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during a shift, including staffing, paperwork, cost controls, inventory, cash handling, food management, scheduling, store presentation, customer service, attendance and punctuality, cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The manager must set an example by following all policies and procedures and expecting the same from the crew. The role also includes general store-team duties such as operating equipment; stocking ingredients and supplies; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The posting also lists delivery duties: delivering products by car to customers, distributing flyers and door hangers, and navigating delivery locations and terrain. Delivery duties require a valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries. The work involves exposure to varying weather, food odors, cornmeal dust, temperature changes, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting for paperwork, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing and pulling trays, occasional climbing, bending, squatting, reaching, and frequent hand use. Delivery work may involve carrying orders, driving, walking, and climbing stairs.
