About The Position

To effectively assist the Branch Manager to operate a branch. Coach staff and maintain business relations. This role involves maintaining a strong focus on helping each member achieve financial success, ensuring member experiences meet or exceed Eagle Service Standards, and embodying ICCU’s Core Values. The Assistant Manager will be a positive influence on team culture, ensure smooth branch operations, and actively participate in community service. Key responsibilities include developing and coaching branch personnel, innovative marketing of Credit Union services, business development, direct supervision of team members, and making sound lending decisions. The role also involves training Financial Service Officers on lending philosophies and risk assessment, maintaining NPS goals and service standards, achieving insurance penetration and sales goals, ensuring accuracy in vault and branch operations, creating team member Strength Development Plans, providing motivational training, coordinating branch schedules, mentoring new team members, completing performance documentation, staying informed of member needs, resolving member escalations, pursuing self-development for a Branch Manager role, acting as Branch Manager in their absence, maintaining the physical facility, and ensuring team member appearance standards are met. The Assistant Manager will also monitor daily duty checklists for operational tasks and compliance, and assist members with various services based on traffic and staffing levels, including interviews, loans, accounts, and teller line backup.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent management experience.
  • Minimum of one year branch team member experience.
  • Mortgage Certification.
  • Business Account Certification.
  • Signature Guarantee/Medallion Stamp Certification, Notary Public.
  • Ability to work with other department supervisors.
  • Ability to supervise all personnel within the branch.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with Administration.
  • Ability to always maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union and member records.
  • Be able to insure the smooth operation of branch and quality service to the membership.
  • Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed.
  • Knowledge of all Credit Union functions, procedures, and policies.
  • Prioritize to allow 15 hours per week for coaching.
  • Be involved in business development and community service activities.
  • Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the direct supervision of three to twelve team members.
  • Ensure accurate balancing of individual MSS team member cash drawers.
  • Ability to make sound lending decisions.
  • Train Financial Service Officers (FSO) to assess risk, train them on ICCU’s lending philosophies, and effectively critique FSO recommendations.
  • Maintain a continuous focus on meeting all NPS goals and Eagle Service standards with branch.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of insurance penetration and Game of Work Sales goals.
  • Ensure accuracy of daily vault and branch operations.
  • Help create team member Strength Development Plans.
  • Enthusiastic and motivational training on a weekly basis or more often if needed in the areas of member service, positional performance, positional growth and excellence, etc.
  • Assign, direct, and coordinate the scheduling needs of the branch team.
  • Effective team, onboarding, mentoring, and training of new team members.
  • Completion of performance documentation and adequate training to meet the needs of each position.
  • Keeping informed of member needs or desires regarding products and services.
  • Take ownership of, support, and bring to resolution all member escalations.
  • Ongoing and continuous self-development, learning and training to prepare to become a Branch Manager.
  • Act as Branch Manager in Branch Manager's absence.
  • Upkeep and maintain physical facility.
  • Ensure all team members’ appearance and dress reflects the standards of a financial institution.
  • Monitor branch daily duty checklist to ensure all operational tasks are completed promptly and accurately, and that the branch always remains in compliance.
  • Assist with helping members in whatever capacity is needed based on member traffic and current staffing levels which includes (but is not limited to the following): Member interviews, consumer loans, HELOCs, mortgages, credit cards, consumer accounts, business accounts, investment accounts, retirement accounts, all account and loan maintenance, member escalations, teller line back-up, etc.
