About The Position

To effectively assist the Branch Manager to operate a branch. Coach staff and maintain business relations. This role involves maintaining a strong focus on helping each member achieve financial success and ensuring member experiences meet or exceed Eagle Service Standards. The position ensures the smooth operation of the branch in all areas, including developing and coaching all branch personnel to meet branch goals, innovative marketing of Credit Union services, and developing and growing the branch through business development activities. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of three to twelve team members, ensuring accurate balancing of individual MSS team member cash drawers, making sound lending decisions, and training Financial Service Officers (FSO) to assess risk, understand ICCU’s lending philosophies, and effectively critique FSO recommendations. The role requires a continuous focus on meeting all NPS goals and Eagle Service standards with the branch, maintaining acceptable levels of insurance penetration and Game of Work Sales goals, and ensuring accuracy of daily vault and branch operations. The Assistant Manager will help create team member Strength Development Plans, provide enthusiastic and motivational training on a weekly basis or more often if needed in areas such as member service and positional performance/growth. They will assign, direct, and coordinate the scheduling needs of the branch team, perform effective team onboarding, mentoring, and training of new team members, and complete performance documentation. The role also involves keeping informed of member needs, taking ownership of and resolving member escalations, and engaging in ongoing self-development to prepare to become a Branch Manager. The Assistant Manager acts as Branch Manager in their absence, is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the physical facility, ensures team members’ appearance and dress reflect financial institution standards, and monitors the branch daily duty checklist for compliance. They will assist members in various capacities based on traffic and staffing levels, including member interviews, consumer loans, HELOCs, mortgages, credit cards, consumer and business accounts, investment and retirement accounts, all account and loan maintenance, member escalations, and teller line back-up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent management experience
  • Minimum of one year branch team member experience
  • Mortgage Certification
  • Business Account Certification
  • Signature Guarantee/Medallion Stamp Certification
  • Notary Public
  • Ability to work with other department supervisors
  • Ability to supervise all personnel within the branch
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with Administration
  • Ability to always maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union and member records
  • Be able to insure the smooth operation of branch and quality service to the membership
  • Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed
  • Knowledge of all Credit Union functions, procedures, and policies
  • Must be eligible for membership at ICCU to obtain employment

  • Assist with helping members in whatever capacity is needed based on member traffic and current staffing levels which includes (but is not limited to the following): Member interviews, consumer loans, HELOCs, mortgages, credit cards, consumer accounts, business accounts, investment accounts, retirement accounts, all account and loan maintenance, member escalations, teller line back-up, etc.
  • Prioritize to allow 15 hours per week for coaching
  • Be involved in business development and community service activities
  • Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union
