The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during a shift, including staffing, paperwork, cost and cash controls, inventory, food management, customer relations, scheduling, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The manager must set an example, follow all policies and procedures, and expect the same from the crew while maintaining company standards and providing great customer service. The position includes general store-team duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning the equipment and facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The job description also includes delivery duties: delivering products by car to customers, distributing flyers and door hangers, and navigating the designated delivery area. Delivery requires a valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle that can be used for work. The role involves standing for most tasks, short-distance walking, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, occasional climbing, and frequent reaching and hand use. Work may involve adverse weather, variable in-store temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
