The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during an assigned shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls and customer relations. The role sets an example for the crew, follows all company policies and procedures, and expects the same from team members. Duties span staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, store standards and cleanliness, customer service, marketing, and profitability. The job also includes general store-team tasks such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position requires frequent communication with customers and coworkers, accurate basic arithmetic and cash handling, order entry using a keyboard or touchscreen, and the ability to make precise, coordinated movements. The work involves standing for most tasks, regular reaching and bending, lifting and carrying supplies, and occasional climbing, crouching, or squatting. Depending on duties, team members may deliver products by car and navigate stairs and other delivery locations. The work environment includes variable temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped cooler spaces, hot oven surfaces, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and sometimes adverse weather. Domino’s describes the workplace as fun and flexible and highlights opportunities to advance from assistant manager to general manager, franchisee, or Manager Corporate Operations. Its stated mission is to recognize, appreciate, value, and use individuals’ unique talents and contributions and to create an environment where team members can reach their highest potential.
