About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of a high-energy convenience store, helping maintain customer service, team performance, store readiness, inventory, scheduling, and financial controls. The role may serve as acting manager when the Store Manager is away. It requires open availability, including weekends and holidays, with work primarily on second or third shifts. Candidates must be at least 21, have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with insurance, and be able to complete physical cleaning and maintenance tasks. Candidates must be proficient in English, have basic math skills, be willing to learn, and have or be able to obtain Food Safety Certification.

Requirements

Must be available to work weekends and holidays and likely second or third shifts.
Must have a valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
Must be comfortable cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, and maintaining outside areas such as fuel pumps.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must be proficient in English and have basic math skills.
Willingness to learn.
Must have or be able to obtain Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
Operate the register and assist customers efficiently and accurately.
Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
Help hire, train, and lead a team focused on customer service and store success.
Act as manager when the Store Manager is off.
Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
Maintain a clean and welcoming store, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage.
Handle daily cash, make deposits, and oversee store financials.
Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
