About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager with day-to-day convenience store operations and helps keep the store running smoothly across shifts. The role combines customer service, register operations, team leadership, inventory and merchandising, store upkeep, scheduling, and cash handling. The Assistant Manager may serve as acting manager when the Store Manager is away. Open availability is required, with work on weekends and holidays and primarily second or third shifts.

Requirements

Open availability to work weekends, holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
Valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
Ability to perform cleaning and upkeep tasks, including cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, and maintaining outside areas such as fuel pumps.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Proficient in English and basic math skills.
Willingness to learn.
Must have or be able to obtain a Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
Operate the register and assist customers promptly, accurately, and courteously.
Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
Help hire, train, and lead a team focused on customer service and store success.
Act as manager when the Store Manager is off.
Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
Maintain a clean and welcoming store, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage.
Perform daily cash handling and deposits and oversee store financials.
Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
