About The Position

The Assistant Manager operates equipment, stocks ingredients and supplies, prepares products, receives and processes telephone orders, takes inventory, completes paperwork, and helps clean the equipment and facility. The role also includes delivering products by car to customers and distributing flyers and door hangers. The position requires a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record meeting company standards, access to an insured vehicle for deliveries, passing a background check, and open availability. Orientation and training are provided on the job. The role involves directing activities, training and leading others, processing customer orders in person and by phone, maintaining cost controls, and meeting quality standards. Work includes standing for most tasks, walking short distances, driving deliveries, handling paperwork while seated, and performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, reaching, bending, crouching, and occasionally climbing stairs or a ladder. The work environment includes variable temperatures, hot surfaces and tools, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped areas, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and varying or adverse weather during outside tasks and deliveries.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries.
Must pass a background check.
Open availability.
Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders by phone and in person.
Ability to train and lead.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed, and make correct monetary change.
Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Motor coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately.
Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses in the delivery area.
Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying product.
Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Ability to lift and handle deliveries weighing up to 50 pounds, carry products and supplies, and perform the other physical duties described in the posting.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather and around hot surfaces and tools, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Responsibilities
