About The Position

The Assistant Manager performs in-store food preparation, customer service, order processing, inventory, cleaning, and delivery duties. The role operates equipment; stocks ingredients and supplies; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility. Training and orientation are provided on the job.

The position also delivers products by car to customers and distributes flyers, door hangers, or other marketing materials. It involves working in a store and delivery area, using a range of food-service equipment and tools, and meeting the physical and communication demands described in the posting.

Requirements

• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately.
• Valid driver license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multistory buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
• Ability to perform the described physical tasks, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling, climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, and continuous hand use.
• Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Far and night vision for driving; near and mid-range vision and depth perception for in-store tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and stock ingredients from delivery areas, storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products and receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area.
• Deliver flyers, door hangers, and other marketing materials.
• Communicate with customers and co-workers in person and by phone to process orders.
• Unload deliveries and move, stock, and carry ingredients and supplies.
• Use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders.
