The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during a shift, including staffing, paperwork, cost and inventory controls, cash handling, food management, customer relations, scheduling, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The role sets an example for the crew by following company policies and procedures and expecting the same from team members. It also involves operating store equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning the equipment and facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position requires directing activities, working independently and with others, handling stress, meeting quality-control standards, dealing with people, analyzing and compiling data, and making judgments and decisions. Work may involve standing for most tasks, walking short distances, completing paperwork while seated, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, and occasionally climbing stairs or a ladder. The work environment includes changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped cooler space, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. The posting also describes delivery duties and requirements: delivering products by car to customers, distributing flyers and door hangers, navigating delivery routes and adverse terrain, and carrying products while walking or climbing. These duties require a valid driver's license with a safe driving record and access to an insured vehicle suitable for delivery.
