The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during a shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls and customer relations. The role requires setting a strong example, following all policies and procedures, and expecting the same of the crew. Assistant managers help oversee staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, store standards and cleanliness, customer service, marketing, and profitability. The position also includes general store-team duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The role involves working in a store with variable temperatures, food-related odors and dust, cramped areas, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Some duties may involve outside work and delivery-related driving in varying weather conditions. Physical activities include standing, walking, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing trays, occasional climbing, bending, reaching, and frequent hand use. Delivery tasks require transporting products to customers and distributing flyers or door hangers.
