The Assistant Manager oversees everything that happens during a shift, including staffing, paperwork, cost and cash controls, inventory, food management, customer relations, scheduling, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The role requires setting a strong example, following all company policies and procedures, and expecting the same from the crew. Assistant Managers also perform general store team-member duties, such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, processing orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning the store. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position may include delivering products and requires access to an insured vehicle and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards. The work involves standing for most tasks, walking, occasional sitting to complete paperwork, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, climbing stairs or ladders, bending, crouching, reaching, and frequent hand use. Work conditions may include temperature changes, cold and hot work areas, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and adverse weather during outside tasks or deliveries. Team members may need to deliver to multi-story buildings and other customer locations, including navigating five or more flights of stairs.
