The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during their shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls, customer relations, staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The manager sets an example for the crew, follows all company policies and procedures, and expects the same from team members. The role requires sound judgment, basic math skills, multitasking, customer service, and the ability to direct activities and make decisions under pressure. The position also includes general store team member duties, such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. Some team members may deliver products, flyers, and door hangers within a designated delivery area; delivery requires a valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle. Work involves a range of physical activities and conditions, including standing, walking, lifting and carrying supplies, reaching, bending, occasional crouching, and sometimes climbing stairs or ladders. The environment may include hot surfaces and tools, cooler temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, moving mechanical parts, and varying weather conditions.
