About The Position

FullSpeed Automotive is a multi-brand automotive service platform operating locations nationwide. The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in leading day-to-day operations and helping the team deliver fast, friendly, high-quality automotive service in a safe, clean, and well-run location. The role is hands-on, with time spent in the service bay, at the front counter, and in the back office, and may serve as a developmental step toward store leadership. The Assistant Manager helps supervise and coordinate employees, support customer service and sales, manage store operations, and maintain service quality and safety. The role includes stepping in to lead the location when the Store Manager is absent. Other job-related duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in a retail, automotive service, or customer-facing leadership role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that includes time in the service bay.
Basic math and cash-handling skills.
Comfort using point-of-sale and inventory systems.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and some holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in quick-lube, automotive service, or a related industry.
Basic knowledge of automotive maintenance services, such as oil changes, fluid checks, and filters.
Experience supervising or training team members in a retail or service environment.
ASE certification(s), or willingness to obtain certifications as required by brand standards.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in supervising daily operations and lead the location in the manager’s absence.
Coach, train, and motivate technicians and service advisors to provide consistent, high-quality service.
Assist with scheduling team members to ensure coverage during peak hours and busy seasons.
Help onboard and train new team members on service procedures, point-of-sale systems, and customer service standards.
Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment reflecting FullSpeed Automotive’s values.
Greet customers, explain services, and deliver customer experiences aligned with the company’s commitment to speed, quality, and trust.
Recommend additional services based on manufacturer guidelines and vehicle needs, helping customers make informed decisions.
Resolve customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating them to the Store Manager when needed.
Support efforts to build repeat business through excellent service and customer care.
Assist with daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and point-of-sale transactions.
Help monitor inventory of parts, fluids, and supplies, and place orders as directed by the Store Manager.
Keep the shop and customer areas clean, organized, and presentable in accordance with brand standards.
Support compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Assist with tracking daily sales, productivity, and key performance metrics to help the team meet store goals.
Help ensure services are performed correctly and safely in accordance with brand and manufacturer standards.
Conduct or support quality checks on completed work.
Promote a safety-first culture and ensure team members follow procedures for equipment use, chemical handling, and shop safety.
Help identify and address maintenance needs for shop equipment and facilities.
Perform other job-related duties as requested by the supervisor.
