The Sherwin-Williams Assistant Manager Trainee Program is an accelerated, entry-level program for current employees preparing for a Store Management role in 18–24 months. After successfully completing the initial 6–8-week training, participants may progress into an Assistant Store Manager position. The typical schedule is 44 hours per week and may include evenings and/or weekends. Trainees collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business and learn store operations, customers, and internal strategy. The role supports business growth by selling high-volume products to commercial customers, including painting contractors, purchasing agents, and manufacturers. The training covers customer service, sales, marketing, finance, and operations, and includes structured development discussions and opportunities to build leadership skills and community relationships. The position is eligible for performance-based bonus compensation and benefits including health coverage, savings and retirement benefits, and time away from work. Job duties involve customer contact and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other valuables; the company has determined that a criminal-history review is necessary.
