About The Position

The Store Assistant General Manager assists the General Manager with operations and marketing functions of the Travel Store/Convenience Store. The role includes staffing, training and development, general supervision of staff, and improving profitability. The Assistant General Manager helps ensure customers receive fast, friendly service and leave the travel center better prepared for the road.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Operational understanding of POS software.

Nice To Haves

Supervisory experience in a convenience store, truck service, travel center, or related industry.
Ability to lead, motivate, train, and develop people.

Responsibilities

Lead and inspire the team to meet and exceed company performance standards and improve the Store department.
Create an atmosphere that encourages feedback from team members and guests; coach and performance-manage staff according to company policy.
Recruit, hire, train, and retain high-quality team members, and foster a culture where employees feel respected and recognized.
Help achieve financial objectives through effective management of people, products, service, and facility processes, with attention to revenue and profit.
Follow safety standards and operational procedures, including company guidelines for vendor relationships.
Assume the duties of any hourly associate position as necessary.
Assist the General Manager with Store operations, marketing, staffing, training and development, staff supervision, and profitability.
