Requirements

  • Knowledge of Vail RPOS system
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to support staff and maintain integrity in difficult situations
  • Understanding of risk management and ability to implement a safe working environment
  • Ability to educate staff about implementing season long program development
  • Understanding of the needs of the community
  • Ability to create lasting relationships with parents, athletes and staff
  • Ability to ski and ride in all weather conditions
  • Understanding of the Outdoor Recreation industry with willingness to learn, develop and grow
  • Ability to learn from mistakes
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to read/write and communicate in English
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working for a Ski and Ride School
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Exceptional guest service skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • PSIA/AASI certification
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Proficiency with RPOS
  • The ability to communicate in Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Hires and recruits coaching staff
  • Manages hiring pipeline for entire Teams program
  • Handles SIS employee re-hire status and paperwork
  • Interviews and recruits staff for All Mountain Development Team
  • Ensures Marketing Website program descriptions and products are updated, published, and working in concert
  • Oversees customer service via phone calls/emails
  • Conducts outreach to local schools
  • Manages employee engagement and trainings
  • Fosters leadership skills for all staff
  • Provides trainings throughout the season that align with the Teams methodology
  • Listens and understands staff needs
  • Utilizes staff in a way that supports personal strengths
  • Looks to increase opportunities for employee engagement
  • Works with software developers of DRIVN to create a communications software program
  • Oversees athlete program development with the Teams Director
  • Designs and inputs programming specific to All Mountain Teams
  • Trains Coaches, Head Coaches and parents on expectations, teaching plans, evaluations, communication matrix and season long program development
  • Manages Teams registration, processing credit cards, and understanding of Vail RPOS system to run reports
  • Updates athlete data in communication platform
  • Manages tuition, refunds, waitlist, and inventory of athletes to staff ratio
  • Oversees the development and program implementation for 345 athletes
  • Schedules staff for 8 Teams programs
  • Manages 6 Head Coaches and 50 coaching staff
  • Fosters future relationships with local schools to grow the mid-week development program
  • Understands the Teams athlete pipeline to develop future athletes and lifelong skiers and riders
  • Educates parents about Teams program by hosting orientations and designing handbooks that define clear expectations
  • Supports staff to lead and handle situations in a way that develops trust from parents and athletes
