Assistant Manager, Manufacturing Process Engineering
About The Position
Lead and coordinate New Model associates in daily activities, including associate performance, and ensure total category achievement of A00 targets for each project. Approve content before Product Execution Evaluation and plan workload, moving associates among projects as needed. Manage the Business Plan, budgeting, manpower, safety, quality, and delivery for all New Model work. Lead the group in achieving goals and objectives while supporting projects. Set priorities and schedules, manage associate administration and development, provide subject-matter expertise, and lead complex manufacturing problem analysis. Balance workload and manpower to meet project targets, and create plans to achieve business targets set by the Department Lead and BU Lead. Conduct feasibility studies and detailed confirmations of new technologies, design concepts, and manufacturing processes. Lead technical feasibility studies for the group before team establishment, and backfill workload gaps by leading or supporting projects as required. The role involves 10% travel, 5 to 10 hours of overtime per week, and work in an office and on a manufacturing floor, with flexible hours and overtime on demand.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent related experience.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, ideally in new model or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Honda systems, including SAP, IMS, and CATIA, and MyHR.
- Experience with cost management of Exp/Inv/MP, NM Development Flow, workload balancing and planning, and training planning.
- Short- and long-term planning skills.

Responsibilities

- Manage associate time entry, time-off approvals, and HR policy rollout and support.
- Serve as the group's subject-matter expert; conduct detailed analysis, understand PPH, and set direction for the group.
- Lead complex manufacturing problem analysis, determine root causes, and recommend corrective action.
- Balance workload and ensure sufficient manpower to complete project targets.
- Lead initiatives to improve group efficiency and effectiveness and create plans to achieve business targets set by department and business-unit leads.
- Complete PPR, ensure training plans are developed and executed, and plan and implement technical, management, and leadership training.
- Develop team members through training, mentoring, experience-sharing, and succession planning.
- Conduct feasibility studies and detailed confirmations of new technologies, design concepts, and manufacturing processes.
- Lead technical feasibility studies for the group before team establishment.
- Backfill workload gaps and lead or support project work as required.
