About The Position

The Collier Companies is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join their team. This is an on-site role, reporting from one of The Collier Companies’ community offices in Gainesville, FL. The Assistant Maintenance Manager is an expert at troubleshooting, identifying problems, providing solutions, and assisting the Service Manager and team. Responsibilities could include repairs in areas such as appliances, HVAC, electrical, drywall, pool, and more. The company is looking for a born leader who instills confidence in those they mentor.

Requirements

Experience as a maintenance technician for at least 1 year.
Supervisory experience strongly preferred (for management positions).
Apartment housing experience strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of appliances, plumbing & HVAC.
Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
Universal EPA certification required.
Commitment to emergency-on-call rotation.
Proven track record of excellent customer service.
Must have basic tools.
Must be able to pass a basic maintenance test.
Must have reliable transportation.
Some overtime will be required, especially during turnover season.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, identifying problems, and providing solutions.
Assisting the Service Manager and team.
Performing repairs in areas such as appliances, HVAC, electrical, drywall, and pool.
Leading and mentoring team members.
Completing work orders.
Participating in an emergency on-call rotation.
