About The Position

Assistant Maintenance Engineers perform general maintenance at AltaPointe Outpatient Programs, Group Homes, Administration buildings, and Hospitals as assigned. The role includes maintaining and repairing building systems and equipment, completing assigned work promptly, and advising the Facility Manager when repairs are needed. Employees are expected to seek daily supervision, develop their skills, accept improvement suggestions, treat consumers with dignity and respect, protect their privacy and confidentiality, cooperate with coworkers, participate in Performance Improvement activities, and follow AltaPointe policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Valid Alabama driver's license and a good driving record.
Ability to read and write.
Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and electrical test equipment such as volt-ohm meters.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the maintenance field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance at AltaPointe facilities as assigned.
Perform electrical repairs, paint, and replace broken building glass, including windows or doors.
Perform carpentry work, including sheetrock repair and other skilled tasks.
Maintain air conditioners, heating equipment, and plumbing equipment.
Complete other maintenance assignments as necessary.
Inspect, service, and/or repair equipment used during maintenance.
Advise the Facility Manager of needed repairs.
Seek supervision daily and actively work to enhance skills.
Accept and employ suggestions for improvement.
Treat consumers with dignity and respect and respect their privacy and confidentiality.
Be pleasant and cooperative with others and work cooperatively with other AltaPointe employees.
Actively participate in Performance Improvement activities.
Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Follow AltaPointe policies and procedures.
