About The Position

The Assistant Machine Operator/Feeder works in a corrugated and rigid box manufacturing plant that produces packaging and displays. The role is primarily responsible for feeding sheets of raw stock into a Rotary Die Cutting Machine and assisting the machine operator with machine setup and operation. The position is full-time on the 1st shift, 6:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M., and requires frequent overtime as needed. Employees join the union after 30 working days. Starting pay is $25.59 per hour. The successful candidate must be willing and able to train to fill in as the Operator when the Operator is absent, and to work as an Assistant Machine Operator/Feeder on other machines as assigned. Job tasks may change multiple times per day. Employment is subject to a background check, physical, and drug screen.

Requirements

Must be willing and able to train to successfully fill in as the Operator when the Operator is absent.
Must be able to work full-time and frequent overtime as needed.
Must be flexible as assigned tasks can change multiple times per day.
Must be able to stand and walk short distances for most of the shift.
Must be able to frequently bend, stretch, squat, reach, climb, push, and pull.
Must be able to retrieve and hang print plates and dies above chest height and put them away before placing the next plate or die.
Must be able to frequently lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to lift and control large sheets of corrugated raw stock.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Familiarity with a corrugated or rigid box manufacturing plant is preferred; on-the-job training is available.

Responsibilities

Feed sheets of raw stock into a Rotary Die Cutting Machine.
Assist the machine operator with all aspects of machine setup and operation.
Perform in-process inspections and follow general workmanship guidelines for quality.
Accurately collect and enter data into the Amtech PDC.
Meet company production goals and customer quality requirements.
Work as an Assistant Machine Operator/Feeder on other machines as assigned.
Train to fill in as the Operator when the Operator is absent.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Follow plant policies, including safety, fire, GMP, and sanitation rules.
