About The Position

Sheridan is hiring a Feeder Operator for a full-time, third-shift manufacturing position. The role involves hands-on work with press and bindery equipment to produce printed materials. Training is provided for candidates who are ready to learn and build a career in print manufacturing. The work takes place on a fast-paced, team-oriented production floor, with employees on their feet for most of the shift and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds.

Requirements

• Experience operating machinery in any industry, such as manufacturing, warehousing, or trades.
• High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, workplace and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction, and ability to use a measuring device.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Mechanical inclination and comfort using basic tools.
• Ability to read basic job instructions and measurements.
• Take pride in producing quality work.
• Reliability and ability to work well with a team.

Nice To Haves

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience.
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining register, fold, and compensation, and identify and correct issues.
• Monitor signature quality by assisting with setting and monitoring color according to Sheridan’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality.
• Assist in webbing up the press.
• Assist with setting up and operating equipment, including press computers, units, folders, and auxiliary equipment, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work as part of a team to meet daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace.
