About The Position

S. Clyde Weaver is hiring a full-time Assistant Logistics Manager to join our Logistics team! This position supports the Logistics Manager in the daily operation of the warehouse. This position helps coordinate receiving, inventory organization, order fulfillment, shipping, equipment use, and warehouse team activity. Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM in our East Petersburg location.

Requirements

  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, logistics, or operations experience required.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse processes, inventory control, order fulfillment, product movement, and safe material handling.
  • Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to support others, take direction, solve routine problems, and adapt to changing daily priorities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior lead, trainer, or supervisory experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience using scanners, inventory systems, warehouse management systems, or related software preferred.
  • Forklift experience or certification preferred; ability to become certified if required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Logistics Manager with daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, staging, loading, shipping, and product movement.
  • Help direct warehouse associates during assigned tasks to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Communicate product, inventory, staffing, equipment, or workflow concerns to the Logistics Manager in a timely manner.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse by reinforcing company procedures, safety practices, and sanitation expectations.
  • Assist with training new or existing warehouse employees on daily processes, product handling, equipment use, and safety requirements.
  • Support order fulfillment, staging, loading, and shipping accuracy by checking work, confirming details, and helping resolve minor issues.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, or other tools as needed and according to company requirements.
  • Help monitor warehouse workflow and make recommendations to improve efficiency, organization, accuracy, and communication.
  • Fill in for the Logistics Manager on routine day-to-day matters when requested or when the Logistics Manager is unavailable.
  • Provide day-to-day support and direction to warehouse associates as assigned by the Logistics Manager.
  • Encourage teamwork, accountability, and clear communication within the warehouse team.
  • Lead by example through dependable attendance, safe work habits, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
  • Assist with employee questions, basic training needs, and workflow coordination, while referring larger concerns to the Logistics Manager.
  • Help ensure team members understand priorities, procedures, and expectations for the shift or workday.
