About The Position

The Assistant Logistics Manager is responsible for scheduling all hotshot shipments and assisting with heavy haul quotes and shipments. This role involves managing trucking schedules, maintaining records of tracking numbers and delivery dates, communicating with various stakeholders about deliveries, and working with haulers for quotes and purchase orders. The position also requires yard assistance, including loading/unloading trucks and operating equipment, as well as filling in for other logistics roles when needed. Minimal travel is expected.

Requirements

1-3 Years of hauling experience in a dealership environment preferred.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong desire to help others.

Strong computer and systems knowledge.
Familiarity with multiple software programs.
Ability to multi-task effectively.
Good business acumen.
Ability to operate a forklift and heavy equipment.
Working knowledge of DOT compliance.

Responsibilities

Schedule hotshot shipments and assist with heavy haul shipments for rental and sales deliveries as well as branch transfers.
Keep records of tracking numbers and load pickup dates and times.
Maintain constant communication with branches, salesmen, and customers on deliveries for rentals, sales, and transfers.
Work with haulers for competitive quotes and create purchase orders for moves.
Fill in for Logistics Manager and Logistics Coordinator when needed.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks, which may include operating a forklift, heavy equipment, and rigging.
Fill out delivery/receiving reports and ensure accuracy.
Assist with inventory and audits when needed.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
