About The Position

The Assistant Licensing Manager is part of The Pokémon Company International’s Licensing & Promotions Team, which develops and executes product licensing, promotions, and retail/trade marketing to increase the visibility of the Pokémon brand globally. The role helps develop Pokémon licensed products and maintain a strong retail presence across the US and Canada, working with Brand Services and Retail Marketing. The position supports the Softlines business, particularly Accessories and Footwear, and assists the Senior Manager, Licensing with day-to-day business for designated domestic partnerships. Responsibilities include licensee management, identifying prospective partners, creative direction, product development, project coordination, legal processing, financial planning, and participation in licensing events and trade shows.

Requirements

BS or BA degree and/or equivalent working experience.
At least 3 years of related experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with workgroups and varied personalities.
Leadership, strategic-thinking, and creative-thinking skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a positive, can-do attitude.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines with little supervision.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and presentation skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to take direction and independently complete tasks using personal initiative by assigned deadlines.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel spreadsheets, and experience with PowerPoint presentations.
Comfort with databases, creating and implementing tracking systems and reports, and training licensees as needed.

Responsibilities

Serve as the day-to-day contact for designated accessory licensees and assist with onboarding, ongoing education, database training and implementation, forms processing, data gathering and reporting, and marketing needs.
Identify and engage prospective licensees in support of strategic initiatives set by the Senior Manager, Licensing – Softlines.
Partner with the Senior Manager, Softlines to develop creative direction for Accessories and Footwear, using industry expertise and trend evaluation; collaborate with Brand Services on creative solutions for innovative, trend-right products.
Work with the Softlines Coordinator to review product and marketing submissions in the approvals system daily and provide comments or approvals as appropriate.
Manage project planning, scheduling, and interdepartmental communication to complete projects on time and in accordance with brand standards and expectations.
Partner with the Softlines Coordinator to manage contract processing and tracking, and oversee the generation, processing, and delivery of legal forms, including manufacturer’s agreements and customs letters.
Assist with annual budgeting, financial planning and development, and implementation of strategic licensing plans to meet revenue targets, grow the business, and generate incremental revenue.
Evaluate royalty reporting to assess partner performance, confirm compliance with contractual terms, and identify opportunities.
Participate in and assist with planning and attending annual Licensing Summits, Licensing Show, Toy Fair, and other trade shows and events.
