About The Position

The Assistant Leasing Manager co-manages leasing strategy for a territory of company-owned shopping centers with the Leasing Manager, working to maximize revenue and increase the value of Publix’s real estate portfolio by supporting tenant retention and higher rental rates. The role analyzes trade-area data to project market rents for lease renewals, expansion leases tied to current vacancies, and pending acquisitions. Territories average approximately 40 company-owned shopping centers, and the role typically negotiates and executes about 72 renewals annually, with additional opportunities possible when Publix acquires shopping centers. The Assistant Leasing Manager reviews tenant requests to renew leases or assign businesses and evaluates whether each proposed Permitted Use aligns with Publix’s leasing strategy. The position also manages clerical and administrative aspects of lease execution from the initial letter of intent through completion of lease documents, and provides analytical, managerial, and project support to the Leasing Manager, Leasing department, and special projects. The position is based in Lakeland. Occasional day trips or local travel may occur as a development opportunity. Overnight travel is not expected except rarely with manager approval.
