About The Position

As an Assistant Kitchen Manager at Parker's Kitchen, you will assist with overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met. You will help maintain efficient kitchen operating systems, deliver exceptional customer service, and support employee development while upholding Parker’s Kitchen’s standards. The role offers experience and opportunities to grow within kitchen leadership.

You will interact respectfully and courteously with customers and employees, manage inventory and help control labor costs in collaboration with the Kitchen Manager, and support food safety and sanitation. You will also stock food and beverage areas, prepare made-to-order items according to recipes or customer specifications, communicate procedures and promotions, and contribute to a collaborative learning environment.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age upon hire.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Complete food safety certification within the first month of employment.
• Complete a skills-based certification within the first 120 days of employment.
• Must be able to work varied hours, days, and shifts as needed due to business circumstances.
• Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours.
• Ability to multitask and perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Comfort working around wet floors, temperature fluctuations, and loud noise levels.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers and employees respectfully and courteously, fostering a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
• Speak honestly and act with integrity while upholding company values.
• Conduct weekly inventory counts and generate cost of sales reports.
• Manage and audit inventory levels to ensure they align with the budget.
• Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to learn and assist in managing labor costs by scheduling employees according to the approved labor budget.
• Assist the Kitchen Manager in enforcing the Safety and Health Policy.
• Stock food and beverage areas with products and supplies to maintain in-stock conditions.
• Prepare made-to-order food and beverages according to recipes or customer specifications.
• Maintain safe food-handling procedures.
• Communicate procedures, promotions, and new products to employees and customers.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the department.
• Foster a collaborative learning environment by sharing expertise and assisting in developing others.
