About The Position

The Assistant Preschool Instructor is responsible for assisting the Head Instructor in any activity or duty needed in the classroom. The Batavia Park District is a 2025 Chicago Tribune Top Workplace! Since its establishment, the Park District maintains and operates approximately 400 acres, comprised of 40 sites, an in-line skating/skateboarding park, a unique aquatic facility, a museum and a multitude of baseball and soccer fields and tennis and basketball courts. The Park District offers nearly 2,000 programs each year and serves roughly 95,000 participants through various recreational, arts, and environmental programs. Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • One year of experience working with preschool aged children
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR
  • Ability to manage and lead children in a classroom environment
  • Flexible and creative to capture classrooms attention
  • Ability to communicate with the public
  • Understand and anticipate customer’s needs as well as support a customer service environment
  • Ability to portray a professional image of the District

Responsibilities

  • Supervise children in classroom and outdoors
  • Prepare daily craft activities for classes
  • Physically set up, take down and clean up class room for activities, including large motor activities and snacks
  • Assist students in bathroom
  • Comfort ill children and contact parents to inform them of child’s illness
  • Make copies and organize all paperwork that is sent home with students
  • Support teacher when needed with students
  • Keep track of attendance
  • Perform all jobs and tasks within guidelines and rules of District’s safety program
