About The Position
The Assistant Preschool Instructor is responsible for assisting the Head Instructor in any activity or duty needed in the classroom. The Batavia Park District is a 2025 Chicago Tribune Top Workplace! Requirements
- High School diploma
- One year of experience working with preschool aged children
- Certification in First Aid, CPR
- Ability to manage and lead children in a classroom environment
- Flexible and creative to capture classrooms attention
- Ability to communicate with the public
- Understand and anticipate customer’s needs as well as support a customer service environment
- Ability to portray a professional image of the District
Responsibilities
- Supervise children in classroom and outdoors
- Prepare daily craft activities for classes
- Physically set up, take down and clean up class room for activities, including large motor activities and snacks
- Assist students in bathroom
- Comfort ill children and contact parents to inform them of child’s illness
- Make copies and organize all paperwork that is sent home with students
- Support teacher when needed with students
- Keep track of attendance
- Perform all jobs and tasks within guidelines and rules of District’s safety program
