About The Position

Responsible for assisting in the management of all aspects of a 24-hour housekeeping operation and oversee the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. This position provides leadership and direction to room attendants, housemen, public area attendants, mini bar attendants and supervisors. Supports the Housekeeping Director and Housekeeping Manager with operational and administrative and operational duties.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily Housekeeping operations to include, but not limited to, maintaining cleanliness, service and product quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms
  • Ensure rooms are clean and available to guests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Manage daily systems use, department management, policy and procedure implementation/enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation for all employees.
  • Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Oversee the room inspection program, conduct inspections of guestrooms and provide and provide feedback to room attendants.
  • Be the primary manager responsible for evening Housekeeping services and Public Areas.
  • Provide ongoing training and development to all positions.
  • Interact with all employees in the Housekeeping Department.
  • Evaluate, coach, counsel and provide leadership support.
  • Manage administrative duties, including payroll and operating expenses.
  • Assist in management of monthly supply and linen inventories to ensure accurate management of resources
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Train room attendants, housemen and supervisors on proper cleaning techniques as well as Hotel standards.
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor; ability to remain calm under pressure & handle every request with a smile.
  • Evaluate shift assignments and prioritize work load.
  • Walk floors to identify deficiencies and take immediate corrective action.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of: All Resort guest., Scheduled daily activities., In-house groups., Resort extension numbers., Beeper number/radios carried by resort personnel., All special requests (DND, screen calls, NRG, etc.), Hours of operation of each outlet.
