About The Position

The Foreign Affair Winery, a boutique winery nestled in the heart of Vineland Station, is seeking a charismatic and hospitality-driven individual to join our team full-time, including weekends. This role is ideal for a team-oriented professional with a passion for wine and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. Reporting to the Director – Brand Home & Direct to Consumer, the Assistant Hospitality Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing daily service operations within our wine boutique and lounge. This position leads the hospitality team, ensuring a warm, engaging, and memorable experience for every guest. The ideal candidate will live within commuting distance to the Winery, Vineland, ON., and have flexibility to work weekends during peak hospitality season, May – September.

Requirements

  • Supervisory and leadership experience in hospitality, food & beverage, and retail
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about wine, WSET an asset
  • Tech savvy, previous experience with Shopify POS, and Tock reservation software
  • Smart Serve Certified
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Leading the hospitality team to provide exceptional guest experiences by: Leading a daily team huddle, sharing updates and an overview of the day
  • Assigning hosts for tastings and preparing the lounge for reservations
  • Oversight of all tastings and providing memorable experiences for guests
  • Training and development of team, providing regular feedback to enhance operations and service standards
  • Management of partnership with on-site kitchen, CHZ PLZ, including menu design
  • Encouraging the team to drive sales results and wine club membership sales
  • Leading the planning and execution of all on-site winery events including private events
  • Leading the wine boutique merchandising, sourcing new suppliers and monitoring inventory
  • Coordinating VIP, trade and media visits to drive visitation and media engagement
  • Managing the winery social media channels, posting and responding to inquiries
  • Collaborating on local tourism initiatives and participating in local committees
  • Management of booking platform, including updating service availability and booking / coordinating guest reservations, group tastings, and private events
  • Responding to public reviews (google, TripAdvisor, etc.) and guest feedback via email
  • Coordinating with the Sales Coordinator to respond promptly to all telephone and email inquiries, requests and complaints from current and perspective customers
  • Managing the hourly staff schedule to maximize efficiencies and ensure adequate resources
  • Actively participate in health and safety initiatives, including the training of hourly staff
  • Ongoing development of training documentation for hourly team to ensure service delivery
