About The Position

The Assistant Grocery Manager supports the daily operations of the Grocery Department, with a focus on customer service, sales, department readiness, and operational excellence. The role helps ensure products are in stock, accurately priced, and presented to company merchandising standards, while contributing to a full, fresh, and well-organized department. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position with direct impact on store performance and the customer shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Grocery Department operations, focusing on customer service, sales, and department readiness.
• Provide friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns.
• Keep shelves, displays, and aisles clean, stocked, front-faced, and merchandised to company standards.
• Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising.
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization.
• Monitor shrink and implement procedures to reduce waste and loss.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards.
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment.
