About The Position

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in operating the club and maintaining Equinox brand standards. The role leads the Front Desk, Maintenance, and Kids’ Club departments, supports ancillary departments and sales, and helps ensure strong customer service, sound financial management, and safe, clean club operations. The position requires flexibility to work schedules based on business needs and openness to reassignment to other locations. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support department operations.

Requirements

• Proven leadership ability.
• 1–3 years of management experience in an operational management industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management and follow-up skills.
• Financial management experience.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Ability to remain mobile throughout the facility all day.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Influence and inspire a dynamic workforce.
• Interview, hire, train, and manage Front Desk, Maintenance, and Kids’ Club departments to meet Equinox brand standards.
• Assist departments with developing schedules and ensuring adherence to payroll budgets.
• Complete staff performance evaluations monthly and annually.
• Follow monthly ordering timelines and supply budgets.
• Ensure a high level of customer service for club members.
• Partner with the General Manager to support ancillary departments and sales.
• Monitor monthly departmental goals and projections.
• Ensure the club meets Equinox cleanliness standards.
• Ensure proper Risk Management and Loss Prevention procedures are followed, and monitor club safety and security.
• Facilitate other projects or responsibilities delegated by the General Manager.
• Work flexible schedules based on business needs and remain open to location reassignments.
