About The Position

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily operations at the Panda Express restaurant operated by Plum Market Foodservice at Omaha Eppley Airfield. The role helps deliver exceptional guest experiences, foster a positive and productive Team Member culture, and oversee food service, staffing, inventory, and compliance. The Assistant General Manager acts as the General Manager’s right hand and takes ownership of operations in the General Manager’s absence to ensure continuity and service excellence.

Requirements

2–3 years of leadership experience in a food service, hospitality, or retail setting.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a team-oriented mindset.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Familiarity with inventory systems, food safety practices, and scheduling tools.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Must pass an airport background check and qualify for badging.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in an airport or high-volume service environment.
ServSafe or similar food safety certification.
Knowledge of back-office systems, timekeeping, and basic financial reporting.
Bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

Support daily restaurant operations, including guest service, staffing, food quality, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and coach Team Members according to established procedures and Panda Express brand standards.
Work alongside Team Members in counter service and kitchen operations, including preparing and cooking food as needed.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, performance coaching, and retention.
Train Team Members according to Panda Express operational guidelines and brand standards.
Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, stock rotation, and cost control.
Monitor food safety, sanitation, and airport security compliance, including required documentation.
Respond professionally to guest feedback and resolve operational concerns.
Support sales and labor tracking, financial reporting, and restaurant performance goals.
Ensure compliance with cash handling, register procedures, and loss prevention standards.
Assist the General Manager with administrative responsibilities and operational communication.
Identify opportunities for improvement and help implement operational changes.
