About The Position

The Village of Riverside Glen and Winston Park has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Food Service Manager to join their team. This is a temporary full-time position for approximately 7 months. The role involves working at two locations: 60 Woodlawn Road E, Guelph ON N1H 8M8 and 695 Block Line Road, Kitchener. Working hours are 45 hours at Riverside Glen and 30 hours at Winston Park, with 3 out of 5 weekends worked. Requirements

  • Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (C.S.N.M.) and maintain active membership.
  • Experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing.
  • Creative flare for menu planning, preparation and presentation.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to supervise and secure the co-operation of the food services team.
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with the older adult population as well as their family and/or caregivers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective team player who works well with others.
  • Knowledgeable in the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, CCHSA/ORCA, Ontario Long-Term Care Facility Program manual and OH&S Act.
