Assistant Food Service Director
About The Position
Yorkview Nursing and Rehab is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Food Service Director to support the daily operations of its dietary department and help ensure residents receive high-quality meals and nutrition services tailored to their individual needs. The role includes overseeing department operations, supervising employees, preparing meals, monitoring residents’ dietary needs, collaborating with the care team, and supporting food safety and regulatory compliance. The schedule is 11:00 AM–7:30 PM, with every other weekend required. The position is full-time and located at Yorkview Nursing and Rehab in York, Pennsylvania.
Requirements
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification is required.
- Experience as a Dietary Director or in a similar leadership role, meeting applicable state regulatory requirements.
- Cooking experience is required.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) certification preferred.
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric food service preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the dietary department and maintain high standards of food service.
- Supervise, schedule, and manage food service employees, including hiring and conducting performance evaluations.
- Prepare meals according to planned menus and approved recipes while meeting special dietary requirements.
- Monitor resident care plans to ensure dietary needs are met.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support quality resident care and smooth facility operations.
- Provide nutrition counseling in coordination with the registered dietitian.
- Help maintain food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance standards.
