We are seeking an Assistant Fleet Manager, a full-time Salary role supporting the Director of Fleet Management. Requirements

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Regularly required to operate a motor vehicle, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to climb into vehicles for inspections, decommissions, new deployments, and preparation for sell.
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Ability to prove US employment eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update driver qualification files, licenses, and medical certificates using JJ Keller.
  • Monitor adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations.
  • Monitor adherence to DOT drug and alcohol testing, including the DOT clearinghouse.
  • Monitor adherence to DOT hours of service and provide training and coaching.
  • Monitor fleet telematics system (Samsara) for electronic log compliance.
  • Troubleshoot Samsara forward facing and driver facing cameras.
  • Provide driver training on DOT regulations.
  • Conduct audits of drivers to ensure compliance through a fleet management and tracking software system.
  • Deliver a safety curriculum to enhance safety awareness and conduct regular in-person safety meetings.
  • Conduct accident investigations in conjunction with the Director of Fleet Management, working with the insurance company, repair shops, and providing replacement equipment.
  • Participate in new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the company through awareness campaigns and initiatives.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry for all fleet support systems, including Fleet Management, fuel card, and toll tag systems.
  • Visit the DMV as needed to process vehicle registrations.
  • Prepare documents and equipment for installation in new vehicles.
  • Perform physical inspections of spare and reassigned vehicles and trailers.
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair of spare and reassigned vehicles and trailers.
  • Ensure spare vehicles are ready for use.
  • Perform commissioning tasks for newly acquired vehicles, reassignments, and spares (DOT numbers, toll road transponders, fuel cards, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the fleet management team.
  • Demonstrate and promote a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.
  • Continually look for ways to improve processes and customer service.
  • Improve personal performance on a continual basis.
  • Provide responsive, professional, and diplomatic customer service.
  • Answer customer/vendor calls and correspondence quickly and pleasantly.
  • Communicate with customers/vendors in a friendly, professional, and patient manner.
  • Perform all duties with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer/vendor relationships.
  • Immediately address any customer’s/vendor concern and request the involvement of other Company personnel as required.
  • Follow all company safety programs and report any non-compliance to your Team Leader.
  • Notify the Manager or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions.
