About The Position
The Assistant Farm Supervisor attends to and cares for swine and assists with supervising employees at the sow farm under the direction of the manager. The position supports daily farm operations, animal health and care, employee training and scheduling, accurate recordkeeping, and compliance with company procedures. It is primarily a field position working at the farm daily.
Requirements
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in English, including reading and writing.
Responsibilities
- Ensure standard operating procedures are followed, facilities are in good working condition, and safety procedures are observed.
- Maintain high herd health, follow company biosecurity requirements, and provide proper feeding and care of animals.
- Train employees on day-to-day processes and procedures using hands-on training methods.
- Supervise and schedule employee groups and act as manager when the supervisor is not present.
- Maintain accurate records and reports concerning animals, employees, and farm supplies.
- Help ensure daily and weekly reports are submitted accurately and on time.
- Follow the farm’s assigned medication and vaccination protocols.
